    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Middle East District awarded a contract for phase five of the Kandahar Air Wing at Kandahar Airfield, Afghanistan. The $6.8 million contract was awarded to METAG Insaat Ticaret A.S., of Ankara, Turkey, on Dec. 10.

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Middle East District awarded a contract on Nov. 6 for tractors and trailers to be provided to the Egyptian Engineering Authority to support its operations. The award went to Daimler Trucks North America, LLC of Portland, Ore., for $8.5 million. The period of performance includes a one year warranty period after acceptance of equipment.
