WINCHESTER, Va. – Interested in deploying with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers? Now it’s easier than ever to find information about civilian deployment opportunities!
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Transatlantic Division has launched a Contingency Deployment recruitment website, www.tad.usace.army.mil/careers/deployments.aspx.
The website provides USACE civilians, civilians from other federal agencies, and non-federal civilians with up-to-date information about deployment opportunities within the Transatlantic Division and U.S. Central Command’s area of responsibility, which includes Iraq and Afghanistan.
“As USACE missions continue in Afghanistan and new missions emerge in support of Operation Inherent Resolve in Iraq, there is an ongoing need for highly qualified personnel to deploy to these locations,” said Brig. Gen. Robert Carlson, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Transatlantic Division commander. “In order to recruit the best qualified personnel, both inside and outside of USACE, the Transatlantic Division has launched this website.”
The site includes information about types of deployments, instructions on how to apply depending on whether someone is a current USACE employee, other federal employee or a non-federal employee. The site includes a description of what to expect during the deployment process from the time an individual applies until they return from deployment. It also includes information on benefits and entitlements and provides links to other helpful resources.
“Prior to the establishment of this website, no online source of information about deploying with USACE to the U.S. CENTCOM area of responsibility existed,” Carlson said. “This site allows interested individuals a resource to gather information and learn more about these exciting and rewarding opportunities.”
