WINCHESTER, Va. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Middle East District will host a Day with an Engineer for local high school students Tuesday, April 29 at the Middle East District headquarters in Winchester.
Approximately 30 students from Sherando, Millbrook, Handley, and Clarke County high schools are expected to attend the event. Day with an Engineer will allow students considering careers in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics to hear from professionals and learn more about these fields.
The event, which begins at 9:10 a.m., will include speakers from multiple engineering disciplines. Following the engineering presentations, students will hear from a representative from the Virginia Tech School of Engineering. The event will conclude with an interactive design/build activity, a question and answer session, award presentations, and a closing discussion. That portion will begin at 11:50 a.m. The event will end at 1:45 p.m.
