Middle East District Awards Bagram Dining Facility

WINCHESTER, Va. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Middle East District awarded a contract for a dining facility at Bagram Airfield, Afghanistan, on Feb. 16. Awarded for $5.2 million, the contract went to Zafer Taahhut Insaat, from Ankara, Turkey.

The contract will provide a new dining facility for military forces at Bagram Airfield. All fixed kitchen equipment is included, and supporting facilities include sewer, water, and power generation. The performance period is 13 months.

The Middle East District provides engineering, construction and related services in the Middle East, Central Asia and other areas. Its work includes designing and constructing facilities for use by U.S. forces, performing engineering activities for other U.S. government and foreign agencies, and providing operations and maintenance services for various customers. In addition, the District provides project management, engineering, contracting and support services to USACE districts in Afghanistan.
