MIDDLE EAST DISTRICT, Winchester, Va. – The Red Cross’ Blood Mobile found a parking spot in front of the Middle East District’s headquarters here Aug. 27, and rolled away with a significant blood donation from district personnel.

According to Jon Fentress, Safety and Wellness Manager at MED, the 20 pints of blood donated met 100 percent of their goal and can help up to 60 patients in need.

“The blood drive was a great success,” said Fentress. “Logistics did a nice job preparing the parking lot and setting up tables. Anne Marie Burke also deserves a special ‘thank you’ for her help.”

In total, 33 personnel checked in and were willing to participate. Of the 20 who were able to make a donation, ten were new donors, according to Burke.

Six of the successful donors came from Contracting Division, which was the most from any section within MED, and garnered them the district’s participation trophy.
