TAM Awards Super Hornet Full Design Task Order, Kuwait

The Middle East District awarded a task order for Super Hornet Full Design at Al Jaber Air Base, Kuwait, Sept. 26, 2019.

Contract number W912ER-17-D-0001, task order number W912ER19F0130, was awarded for $12,688,660.25 to Atkins North America, Inc., of Dallas, Texas.

The Kuwait Ministry of Defense and Kuwait Air Force will receive 28 F/A-18 aircraft through a Foreign Military Sales (FMS) case. The aircraft will be housed at Al Jaber Air Base. This task order covers “turn‐key technical, design, procurement, and construction services in support of the Purchaser’s Super Hornet Program,” including sun shelters, supply warehouse storage with a secured area, support equipment storage and maintenance, aircraft engine maintenance, aircraft paint facility, area for classified mission planning and brief/debrief for aircrew, aircraft engine run‐up area, compass calibration, and training facility to accommodate the Super Hornets.

Period of performance is 631 calendar days from notice to proceed.

The Middle East District is responsible for providing engineering, construction, and related services in the Middle East, Central Asia, and other areas as required. Its work includes designing and constructing facilities for use by U.S. forces, performing engineering activities for other U.S. government and foreign agencies, and providing operations and maintenance services for various customers. In addition, the district provides project management, engineering, contracting and support services to the USACE district in Afghanistan.
