Contract awarded for Triton operational facility in the UAE

WINCHESTER, Va. - The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Middle East District awarded a contract to Al Sahraa General Transport & Clearance, Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates July 19, for a Triton Operational Facility in the UAE. 

Contract Number W912ER-18-C-0032 was awarded for $24,409,797 with a performance period of 929 calendar days from notice to proceed.

This project is to design and construct an environmentally controlled pre-engineered space with vertical fabric doors for four Triton aircraft, including hangar space for one or more of the Triton Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS). Each structure may contain organizational, maintenance, and administration spaces.

The facilities must be semi-permanent construction allowing for any of the four aircraft to be deployed at any time.

Work includes demolishing existing improvements, grading, vehicle paving, taxiways, and access driveways, new apron area paving, storm drainage, walkways and sidewalks, utility corridors, fire protection access, bicycle racks, site and apron lighting, and dumpster/recycling enclosures.

The Middle East District provides engineering, construction and related services in the Middle East, Central Asia and other areas. Its work includes designing and constructing facilities for use by U.S. forces, performing engineering activities for other U.S. government and foreign agencies, and providing operations and maintenance services for various customers. In addition, the District provides project management, engineering, contracting and support services to USACE districts in Afghanistan.
