LTC Martin C. Jung, the Middle East District’s Deputy Commander Forward, was promoted to Colonel March 6 in Kuwait. 

The ceremony, held at the Kuwait Naval Base, was hosted by Kuwaiti COL Al Salal at the Kuwait Navy Officer's Club. 

“What gracious hosts our Kuwaiti partners were,” said COL Scott Lowdermilk, Chief of Transatlantic Division’s Plans and Operations who performed the ceremony representing the Transatlantic Division and Middle East District commanders. “They provided an amazing lunch for the attendees in the Officer's Club and the venue for the ceremony.”

In addition to the U.S. promotion, COL Al Salal performed a symbolic Kuwaiti COL promotion ceremony. Jung’s family was able to FACETIME and see the entire event.

“The Kuwaitis were great hosts,” said Jung following the ceremony. “And most importantly, my family remained connected the whole time.”

Several other from USACE and beyond also attended in person and virtually including part of the Iraq FEST-A (791st) was here, COL (ret.) Clint Pendergast, the former TAD Gulf Region Engineer, COL Corey Spencer, Task Force Essayons commander; COL John Rosnow, Jung's former brigade commander when he was a battalion commander, and several folks from the Kuwait PMO.
