TAM Commander presents alidade to TAD Commander
At left, Col. Philip Secrist, the Commander of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Transatlantic Middle East District presents the Commander of USACE's Transatlantic Division Col. (P) Christopher Beck with an alidade as a token of thanks for his leadership. The alidade has been used for hundreds of years by engineers, and the word is of Middle Eastern origin, making it especially appropriate for our District. Col. Beck took command of the Transatlantic Division in June 2019 and will relinquish command of the Division on 16 June. His next assignment will be the commander of USACE's Southwestern Division.
