High Rollers flyover St. Mary's in honor of first responders

The High Rollers' Salute to Medical Professionals flyover was at noon April 28, 2020. The 152nd Airlift Wing is a C-130 unit from Reno, Nev. They began at the Nevada Air National Guard Base and passed over Renown South Medical Center at noon. During the following hour, flyover locations include: Carson Tahoe Health in Carson City; Carson Valley Medical Center in Gardnerville; Barton Memorial Hospital in South Lake Tahoe, California; Tahoe Forest Hospital in Truckee, California; St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center in Reno; Renown Regional Medical Center; VA Sierra Nevada Health Care Center; University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine; Banner Health Center in Fernley; Lahontan Valley VA Clinic and Banner Churchill Community Hospital in Fallon; Renown and Rural Health Centers in Silver Springs.

The Nevada Air and Army National Guard have more than 1,150 Airmen and Soldiers activated in support of the state’s COVID-19 response, the largest state activation in Nevada National Guard history.

Across the nation, the National Guard provides a force of 450,000 Airmen and Soldiers in the 54 states, territories and District of Columbia capable of contributing to the response effort. More than 43,000 Guardsmen have activated nationwide. The Nevada Guard includes about 3,200 Soldiers and 1,200 Airmen able to respond and assist any community in the Silver State.

Guardsmen around the nation have provided support working to increase medical capacity; providing security at testing sites; managing food banks; delivering food and critical supplies; disinfecting public spaces and various other duties.

Mission

The Middle East District provides engineering, design, construction execution, and related services and support to mission partners in the USCENTCOM area of responsibility (AOR) to increase regional security and stability in support of enduring U.S. interests; on order, supports contingency operations.

 

The Middle East District is a subordinate element of the Transatlantic Division, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
