U.S. Marines with 2nd Battalion, 23rd Marines, forward deployed with 4th Marine Regiment, 3d Marines Marine Division as part of the Unit Deployment Program, and Republic of Korea Marines with the 1st Marine Division, ROK Marine Corps, conduct military operations in urban terrain rehearsal training during the Korean Marine Exercise Program in Pohang, South Korea, July 21-22, 2025. KMEP is conducted regularly between the ROK and U.S. Marine Corps to increase their combined capabilities through realistic training geared towards deterring threats and maintaining peace in the Indo-Pacific. Mission

The Middle East District provides engineering, design, construction execution, and related services and support to mission partners in the USCENTCOM area of responsibility (AOR) to increase regional security and stability in support of enduring U.S. interests; on order, supports contingency operations.

 

The Middle East District is a subordinate element of the Southwestern Division, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
