A wrecker and backhoes are divested to the Iraqi Ministry of Defense Military Engineering Center from Al Asad Air Base, Iraq, Feb. 2, 2022.The transfer of equipment is coordinated through the Counter-ISIS Train and Equip Fund to provide operational support to strengthen Partnered Forces in Iraq and Syria in order to sustain the enduring defeat of Daesh. The Middle East District provides engineering, design, construction execution, and related services and support to mission partners in the USCENTCOM area of responsibility (AOR) to increase regional security and stability in support of enduring U.S. interests; on order, supports contingency operations.

 

The Middle East District is a subordinate element of the Transatlantic Division, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
