U.S. Coast Guardsmen with Port Security Unit 301 conducted a sea-to-sea, live-fire training at Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point’s Bombing Target 9 (Brandt Island), North Carolina, April 29 to May 1, 2025. During the exercise, crew members had to demonstrate effective communication, proper use and function of a mounted M240B machine gun and exceptional marksmanship skills to destroy a target attached to an autonomous moving boat.

The Middle East District provides engineering, design, construction execution, and related services and support to mission partners in the USCENTCOM area of responsibility (AOR) to increase regional security and stability in support of enduring U.S. interests; on order, supports contingency operations.

 

The Middle East District is a subordinate element of the Transatlantic Division, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
