U.S. Marines with Marine Fighter Attack Squadron (VMFA) 214, Marine Aircraft Group 12, 1st Marine Aircraft Wing from Marine Corps Air Station Yuma, Arizona, loaded ordnance onto F-35 Lighting II aircraft on Marine Corps Air Station Iwakuni, Japan, March 25, 2025. This exercise marked the first time VMFA-214 loaded live ordnance on aircraft since their arrival to MCAS Iwakuni under the Unit Deployment Program, which allows units based in the U.S. to gain operational experience in the Indo-Pacific region. Mission

The Middle East District provides engineering, design, construction execution, and related services and support to mission partners in the USCENTCOM area of responsibility (AOR) to increase regional security and stability in support of enduring U.S. interests; on order, supports contingency operations.

 

The Middle East District is a subordinate element of the Transatlantic Division, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
