Sailors assigned to Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS George Washington (CVN 73) participate in a small arms shoot on Commander, Fleet Activities Yokosuka, May 2, 2025. All video shots taken in front of the firing line were staged with a clear and safe weapon preceding the shoot. George Washington is 7th Fleet’s premier forward-deployed aircraft carrier, a long-standing symbol of the United States’ commitment to maintaining a free and open Indo-Pacific region, while operating alongside Allies and partners across the U.S. Navy’s largest numbered fleet. Mission

The Middle East District provides engineering, design, construction execution, and related services and support to mission partners in the USCENTCOM area of responsibility (AOR) to increase regional security and stability in support of enduring U.S. interests; on order, supports contingency operations.

 

The Middle East District is a subordinate element of the Transatlantic Division, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
