USACE, through a contract awarded to Anham-ICS Serka Joint Venture in February, has reached a major milestone in runway repair at Bagram Airfield. This old Russian runway was reduced to rubble, crushed, and replaced with nearly 10,000 cubic meters of asphalt, allowing repairs to the primary runway to begin. Completion and return to full operations is scheduled for January 2014.
