  • Manas ramp project nears completion

    With an increased number of U.S. forces deploying to Afghanistan, the Middle East District is supporting the necessary infrastructure and helping the U.S. Air Force prepare for a potential surge of air traffic moving in and out of the country by overseeing construction of a $26.3 million strategic ramp at the Transit Center on Manas International Airport in Kyrgyzstan.

  • Award-winning project has a clear purpose

    The U.S. Forces-Iraq Operations Facility is far from being the most aesthetically pleasing project entered in the annual competition of the American Council of Engineering Companies. It is not beautiful and does not minimize a carbon footprint like other national finalists, according to Deborah Duncan, Deputy for Programs and Project Management at the Middle East District.
