Winchester, Va. -- The Middle East District awarded a Firm Fixed Price Contract on February 4, 2026, to construct a Quick Reaction Area (QRA) and Combat Aircraft Loading Area (CALA) for the Kuwait Ministry of Defence (KMOD) facilities in Kuwait.
Contract W912ER26CA009 was awarded for $31,353,757.81 to AL Ghanim Combined Group (AGCO).
The contract scope includes four QRA Parking Shelters, five CALA Aircraft Sunshades, and airfield pavement. Each QRA Parking Shelter will house two aircraft and each Aircraft Sunshade will house one aircraft. The QRA Shelters and CALA Sunshades are all separated by reinforced barricades. Combined, the QRA and CALA will house thirteen aircraft.
