District mentor with high school STEM intern
Matthew Flacksenburg, a junior at James Wood High School, prepared a presentation on the renovation of James Wood High School’s Theater as his capstone project for a project management internship with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Middle East District. He was the District's first ever project management intern. Flacksenburg presented his project at the Frederick Country Gifted and Talented Showcase along with his mentor, Marissa Louden, a Middle East District project manager. The Middle East District’s high school intern program is dedicated to sparking an interest in U.S. Army Corps of Engineers positions for future generations of bright and driven individuals with an interest in STEM and/or project management.
